Golf Overview

The Covenant School Boys Golf team won their second TAPPS State Championship in three years on Tuesday, May 2. The team played at the Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, TX and finished with a team score of 578, beating out the second-place team by twenty one strokes. The team was led by freshman Brooks Harper who placed fourth individually and shot a 68 in Round 1 and a 71 in round two, finishing as the tournament’s 4th place individual. Luke Harper, Sophomore, finished in the 7th place spot with a score of 141 after two rounds. Senior Andrew Pattison also secured a top ten spot with a score of 146. The girls team finished 6th overall with two top ten finishes - Senior, Lucy Wedeberg and Freshman, Ruthie Weinmann - both tying for the 9th place individual spot.

This marks the second time in the school’s history that the Boys have won the state championship, with the first being in 2018. Coach Matthew Graham was ecstatic about the win, saying that the team put in a lot of hard work this season. With several players returning next year, the team is hopeful for back-to-back championships.
