Meet the Fine Arts Faculty

I have loved drawing and painting since I was a child.  In high school, I had the distinct privilege of studying at the San Antonio Art Institute under Carl Rice Embrey.  I minored in Art in college and went on to get my Interior Design License and practice with Architectural Design Associates in San Antonio.  When the recession of the early 90’s hit Texas, my firm downsized, and I found myself teaching art at a private school in San Antonio.  I fell in love with teaching and have taught high school Architecture, drawing, painting and sculpture for the past 30 years. My favorite media is oil on canvas, and I have focused on portrait commissions and studied under Bob Stuth Wade, Virginia Vaughan, Michael Okeefe, and Bonny Leibowitz.  I currently teach AP Art, Advanced Studio Art 3 and 4 and Architecture 1, 2, 3 and 4 at Covenant.
